A good comparison. Corner detail of an oak and stone-coloured kitchen in a very old cottage. The walls were a long way from square and vertical and there was a huge bulge in the corner near the floor, which is probably why the original kitchen cabinets stopped short of the corner!
The cabinets had to be carefully designed to fit the corner, accomodate a short drawer and pullout baskets and have room to use the worktops. The pine drying slats above the Aga were also replaced with matching oak.
